Summary
The genus Rhus includes about 200 species of perennial plants, shrubs and trees encountered in the tropics. Rhus longipes can be a shrub or small tree with drooping branches. The species is introduced and naturalized in the Mascarenes. On the island of La Réunion the species can be particularly invasive. It can become dominant or co-dominant in natural or semi-natural environments, especially in dry areas at low altitudes.
