Justification for EICAT assessment
G. rugosa is a predator that preys on both native and non-native species, the decline in population size of endemic Hawaiian insects and snails can not be attributed to the presence of G. rugosa alone (Van Kleeck & Holland 2018). However it is likely that G. rugosa preys on native species and effects the performance of native individuals.
