Justification for EICAT assessment
Gut content from 265 Rooks in New Zealand contained invertebrates (Diptera larvae and Coleoptera adults, Earthworms). They also prey on other invertebrates, like the Grass Grub (Costelytra zealandica), small and ground nesting birds, lizards and eat bird eggs (Porter 1979, Lever 2005, Porter et al. 2008, Pest Detective 2014).
