Summary
The Japanese rice frog, Fejervarya kawamurai has recently been expanding beyond its historical range in its native Japan. There are concerns on this voracious predators impact on anuran populations in its invaded areas. it has been observed juvenile Fejervarya kawamurai predate on Hyla japonica juveniles and froglets in a rice field in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

Although F. kawamurai largely preys on arthropods, it is uncertain whether the prey is of native or non-native origin (Takeuchi et al. 2019). There also has been no indication of population decline of any species consumed by F. kawamurai.

Description of impacts
Predation - stomach contant showed that the Japanese Rice Frog (F. kawamurai) preys primarly on arthropods, but also other taxa. However, prey was not identified to the species level.
